2022 Poacher's Ridge Marsanne
Aromatically, a lovely balance between lively fresh honeysuckle characters and some light savoury complexity from barrel ferment. On the palate, Honeysuckle and nectarine fruits fill the front palate and are backed by subtle oak and complexity. The savouriness gives a lovely texture to the mid-palate and is backed by a fine acid structure providing a long clean finish. A wine that drinks well now but will develop into a far more complex wine over the next 10 years or so.

About Poacher’s Ridge
Established: 1999 | Under Vine: 8 Ha | Dozens: Not Many!
A small, family-run vineyard, consisting of Alex, Janet, Marcus and Andrew Taylor, and Winemaker (James Halliday’s Winemaker of the Year, 2015) Robert Diletti, we take great care producing hand-crafted wines driven by the land, the seasons and a dedication to honest winemaking traditions. They hand-tend twenty acres under vine, cultivating grapes that best reflect the lay of the land and the style of wine we love to drink: cool-climate, medium-bodied varietals, with a particular focus on Riesling, Marsanne, Shiraz, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. A philosophy of minimal intervention is taken where practicable, avoiding spraying whenever they can, and only using small amounts of SO2, where really required.
