About Coughlan Estate
WINE MAKER BRUCE DUKES | SOME OF THE OLDEST GEOGRAPHE PLANTINGS 1978
Planted back in 1978, and spread over six acres, the vineyard includes Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Semillon, as well as an extremely welcoming cellar door overlooking the vines.
Focusing on traditional viticultural practices, everything is handpicked at vintage, and the vines are carefully hand-pruned and tended throughout the year.
The wines themselves are crafted by the ever-talented Bruce Dukes - his skill, combined with premium grapes, forms a special bond in the bottle, and produces the award-winning wines that are Coughlan Estate.
Classified as an official Australian appellation in 1999, Geographe GI is a young and vibrant region ideally suited to grape growing. Only an hour and half from Perth, with plenty of boutique wineries, world-class food and beautiful vistas around every bend in the road, it is emerging as one of the most exciting up and coming wine regions in Australia.
Nestled amongst the glorious rolling hills of Donnybrook, is the hidden gem of Coughlan Estate - home to some of the oldest vines in the region.
Family-owned and operated by Preeti & Brad Coughlan, and watched over carefully by their five ery friendly wine dogs (aka the welcoming committee!) Coughlan Estate is a dry-grown vineyard with a very hands on approach. With a higher proportion of cooler nights than other localities, and a sharp eye for detail in the vineyard, the fruit produced is of exceptional quality.
